Corpers Made to Carry Mattresses as Punishment for Skipping Morning Parade

A recent video circulating online shows soldiers in Nigeria forcing National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members
to march with mattresses on their heads as punishment for missing morning parade.
The incident highlights ongoing concerns about the methods employed
in military training and the potential for abuse of power.
The video depicts soldiers instructing several NYSC members to carry their mattresses on their heads and
march around their colleagues as punishment for failing to attend the mandatory morning parade.
This incident raises questions about the effectiveness and
ethics of such public, humiliating punishments.
While discipline is essential within any military structure,
employing public humiliation as a disciplinary tool has the potential to inflict significant harm.
Such practices can lead to feelings of shame, embarrassment, and even resentment,
ultimately hindering the learning process and creating a negative environment for the individuals involved.
Building a culture of discipline within the NYSC program can be achieved through
alternative methods that focus on education, positive reinforcement, and constructive criticism.
These methods should prioritize clear communication
of expectations, encouraging positive behavior,
and implementing fair and progressive disciplinary actions
that focus on personal growth and accountability.
Effective military training should not only cultivate physical and
mental strength but also uphold ethical conduct and respect for human dignity.
This includes treating all individuals with respect and
employing methods that prioritize personal and professional integrity.
@xshojay Ekiti camp this morning , they were sleeping in the hostel why others are in the parade ground, see what happen too them later🥵🥵
