Veteran Nollywood actor, Kanayo O Kanayo, has blasted Big Brother Naija (BBN) housemates over their inability to answer general knowledge questions.

His criticism comes after a series of videos went viral on social media showing

However, showing the housemates failing to give correct answers to some basic knowledge questions,

such as “What is the body’s primary source of energy?”,

“What colour is a giraffe’s tongue?”, “Whose face is on the 100 naira bill?”, and

“Which body is responsible for making laws in Nigeria?”.

Hence, In a post on his Instagram page, Kanayo O Kanayo berated the show for wasting such a large amount of money on people of low intellect.

According to the actor, the money would have been better channelled to the educational sector.

He wrote:

“Wasted 120m on INCORRECT PEOPLE who are only correct with their bumbum”.

”Money that should have been channelled to a CORRECT educational program”.

Meanwhile, Kanayo O Kanayo’s post has generated a lot of reactions from social media users,

with many people agreeing with him that the show is a waste of time and money.

Others, however, have defended the show, arguing that it is just entertainment and that the housemates are not expected to be experts in everything.

Regardless of one’s opinion on the show, it is clear that Kanayo O Kanayo’s criticism

has raised an important point about the state of education in Nigeria.

With so many young people struggling to access quality education,

it is perhaps time to question whether the money spent on reality TV shows like BBN could be better used elsewhere.
