The Federal Government has again asked to meet with the leadership of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC)

on Monday, September 18, 2023, in a bid to resolve issues over the looming industrial action.

This was confirmed in a statement on Sunday, by the Director Information,

The statement said the Minister of Labour and Employment, Simon Bako Lalong,

directed the Department of Trade Unions Services and Industrial Relations to convene the meeting

with the NLC to resolve all pending matters and avert further disruption to the economy.

Lalong said the administration of President Bola Tinubu will always engage the organized labor

and respond to its concerns after due consultation and negotiations in order to guarantee industrial harmony

which is critical to the attainment of the Renewed Hope Agenda.

The NLC has planned an indefinite strike to protest the Federal Government’s failure

The meeting between the FG and the NLC on Monday is crucial
