A youth leader in Omoku town, River State, has been arrested for allegedly vandalizing electricity cables.

Comrade Eze Nwabrije, the Provost of Obohia Youth Association, was caught in the early hours of Thursday, June 22, 2023, by members of the Civilian JTF in the town.

The suspect is said to have been caught red-handed cutting through electricity cables. He was arrested and taken to the police station.

The arrest of Comrade Nwabrije is a major blow to the activities of cable vandals in Omoku. It is also a reminder that the authorities are taking the issue of vandalism seriously.

We hope that the authorities will prosecute Comrade Nwabrije to the fullest extent of the law. This will send a strong message to other cable vandals that they will not be tolerated.
