Wumi Toriola, Nollywood actress, has spoken out on the detriment of godfatherism in the entertainment industry.

Hence, She noted how many deadly mistakes can lead to the death of anyone who has a godfather or godmother.

Toriola cited the recent death of Mohbad as an example of how godfatherism can stifle the growth of young talents.

She said that godfathers often block intending helpers for their godsons/daughters, cancel their opportunities, and breed more hate for them.

Toriola added that this is the reason she and others have chosen to be their own godfathers and godmothers.

However, She called on God to raise destiny helpers with a mind of God.

Popular comedian, Oghenekowhoyan Onaibe Desmond, also known as Destalker, had a similar experience.

He recounted how some colleagues struck his name over godfatherism.

He said that his growth in the industry was being hindered by many people over anti-fatherism attitude.

Destalker said that his name had been struck out in several ways in the past with some prospective sponsors referencing senior colleagues.

In other news, Wumi Toriola has called out Production Managers in the Yoruba movie industry for their nonchalant attitudes towards cast and crew.

Meanwhile, She shared a bitter experience she had recently on a movie set, stating that only she could explain how she felt.

Wumi went on to give important advice to her colleagues, urging them to stand up for themselves and to be more professional.
