“Nothing will work until we remove cultism from the entertainment industry” Nosa Rex and other Nollywood actors weigh in on Mohbad’s death
Nollywood actor, Nosa Rex, has given his two cents on the death of the late singer, Mohbad. In a post on his Instagram page,
the light-skinned actor opined that nothing will change in the entertainment industry until cultism is removed.
Admonishing the public to stay away from cultism, he noted how entertainment requires one’s talent and not color.
According to him, as one progresses in life, he or she will realize that the people who will help them in life aren’t even from their confra mate.
He added that the only enemy we have in Nigeria is poverty and urged his fans and followers to channel their energy to fight poverty.
Nosa Rex’s statement comes on the heels of similar statements made by his female colleagues,
Uche Ogbodo and Wumi Toriola.
Uche Ogbodo tackled Nigerians, noting how they are all talk and no action.
She pointed out the hypocrisy of how Nigerians call for people facing challenging times to speak out,
yet they are the ones who laugh and ridicule them when they do.
She stressed that Nigerians aren’t ready to face the monster’s head yet until they are fully ready.
Wumi Toriola, on the other hand, spoke on the detriment of godfatherism in the entertainment industry.
She noted how many deadly mistakes can lead to the death of anyone who has a godfather or godmother.
She noted how such people block intending helpers for their godsons/daughters,
cancel their opportunities, breed more hate for them, and lots more.
The deaths of Mohbad and other young entertainers in the Nigerian industry
have sparked a conversation about the many challenges that exist in the industry.
These challenges include cultism, godfatherism, and poverty.
It is important to note that these are just the opinions of a few Nollywood actors.
It is up to each individual to decide whether or not they agree with these statements.
However, it is important to have a conversation about these challenges and to work towards finding solutions.
