“My father abandoned us, but came back to die in our house” – Terry Apala
Nigerian musician, Terry Apala, has opened up about the pain of having his father abandon him and his family when he was young,
but then returning to die in their home.
In a recent interview, Apala said that his father left when he was just a child and
never made any attempt to contact him or his family.
He said that he was hurt and angry by his father’s abandonment, but he also felt sorry for him.
“It was really painful,” Apala said. “I didn’t know why he left us, and I was always angry at him for it.
But when he came back to die in our house, I felt sorry for him.
He was a broken man, and I knew that he had regrets about leaving us.”
Apala said that he learned a lot from his father’s abandonment.
He said that he would never abandon his own children,
and he would always be there for them, no matter what.
“I know that what happened to me wasn’t fair,” Apala said.
“But I’m not going to let it define me. I’m going to use it to make myself a better person.”
Apala’s story is a reminder that abandonment can have a lasting impact on a person’s life.
But it’s also a story of resilience and forgiveness.
Apala’s decision to forgive his father and move on is a testament to his strength and his character.
