“I just gave birth to twins through CS and my husband has beaten me twice” – Nigerian woman cries out for help
A Nigerian woman who recently underwent a cesarean section (C-section) to give birth to twins has been assaulted by her husband twice since giving birth. The woman, who has chosen to remain anonymous, reached out to human rights activist Harrison Gwamnishu for help.
In a message to Gwamnishu, the woman said that her husband had beaten her up twice since she gave birth, and that he had also beaten her up when she was heavily pregnant with their twin children. She shared a photo of her bruised body with Gwamnishu and said that she was in need of help.
Gwamnishu has taken up the woman’s case and is working to get her the help she needs. He has also called on the police to investigate the matter and bring the woman’s husband to justice.

Domestic violence is a serious problem in Nigeria, and it is often perpetrated against women and children. This case is a reminder of the need to do more to protect women and children from violence.
