“Give us Mohbad for a befitting burial, we are exhausted of your carelessness and slowness” Tonto Dikeh calls out the Nigerian Police

Published

on

Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has called out the Nigerian Police over their handling of the investigation into the death of singer Mohbad.

In a series of social media posts,

Dikeh expressed her frustration with the police’s slowness and carelessness, and

demanded that they “give us Mohbad for a befitting burial.”

Mohbad, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Opeyemi,

was found dead in his home in Lagos on September 27, 2023.

The cause of his death is still under investigation, but the police have ruled out foul play.

Dikeh, who was a close friend of Mohbad,

has been vocal about her criticism of the police since his death.

She has accused them of dragging their feet in the investigation,

and of not taking the case seriously enough.

In one of her posts, Dikeh wrote:

“The Nigerian Police is a disgrace to this country.

They have shown nothing but incompetence and unprofessionalism in handling Mohbad’s case.

We are tired of their excuses and their delays. We want justice for Mohbad, and we want it now.”

Dikeh’s comments have resonated with many people in Nigeria,

who are also frustrated with the police’s performance.

The police have a long history of corruption and inefficiency,

and their handling of Mohbad’s case has only served to reinforce this perception.

The Nigerian Police Force has not yet responded to Dikeh’s criticism.

Nevertheless, they have said that they are committed to conducting

a thorough investigation into Mohbad’s death.

It remains to be seen whether the police will be able to satisfy the public’s demands for justice.

However, Dikeh’s outspokenness on the issue has undoubtedly

put pressure on the police to act more swiftly and effectively.
