It was drama in Warri as a Sienna car driver (name withheld) bit off the ear of a Vehicle Inspection Officer, (VIO) identified as Papu Prosper during a heated argument, while they were on patrol in Warri, Delta State.

The incident occurred during an argument over expired particulars in the early hours of Friday, along Eagle Roundabout, by Federal Government College, in Warri.

According to Prosper, “I am a Vehicle Inspection Officer, VIO. We went for a patrol in Warri, Delta State, where we apprehended a driver whose car particulars have expired.

“In the process, my boss told me to follow him to our office in Warri to confirm whether his particulars are up to date or not.

“While following the man, he said he will kill me, that the VIO has done a lot. So he brought out a dagger and was trying to butcher me into pieces.

“I struggled to get out of the vehicle as it was on speed. In the process, I fought him, and he bit off my ear,” He stated.

Speaking further, Prosper said the Sienna driver spat out his (Proper’s) ear, which fell on the ground, left his vehicle and ran away.

While the Sienna is in the custody of VIO, Prosper thanked God for saving him as he beseeched the government to do justice if the Sienna driver is caught.

“I give God all the glory for keeping me alive. And for the man, let the law do what has to be done,” he stated.

Police Statement on Delay in Receiving Mohbad’s Autopsy Report

The Lagos State Police Command has issued a statement regarding the delay in receiving the autopsy report for late singer Mohbad.

In a statement released on Wednesday, November 22, 2023,

the police said that they were still waiting for the report from the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre,

where Mohbad’s body was exhumed for an autopsy on September 21, 2023.

The police also said that they were investigating the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death, and

that they would release the autopsy report as soon as it was available.

“We are still waiting for the autopsy report from the Lagos State DNA and Forensic Centre,”

the statement said. “We are also investigating the circumstances surrounding Mohbad’s death,

and we will release the autopsy report as soon as it is available.”

The delay in receiving the autopsy report has caused frustration among Mohbad’s fans and family,

who are eager to know the cause of his death.

Mohbad, whose real name was Ilerioluwa Aloba, died on September 12, 2023, at the age of 27.

The cause of his death is still unknown.

The police have urged the public to remain patient while they await the autopsy report.

Mohbad’s wife continues her testimony – Why Mohbad was taken to the hospital on a bike

Mohbad’s wife, Wunmi, testified at the coroner’s inquest that her husband was taken to the hospital on a bike because there was no ambulance available.

She said that she had called for an ambulance,

but that the ambulance had not arrived by the time that Mohbad’s condition had worsened.

Wunmi said that she had also tried to put Mohbad in a neighbor’s car, but that he was already lifeless at that point.

She said that she had then decided to take him to the hospital on a bike,

as it was the only way to get him there quickly.

Wunmi’s testimony was corroborated by Mohbad’s DJ, Ajisegeri Ayobami.

Ayobami said that he had also called for an ambulance,

but that the ambulance had not arrived by the time that Mohbad had been taken to the hospital on a bike.

Ayobami said that he had been with Mohbad since he had first started to feel unwell earlier that day.

He said that Mohbad had complained of feeling dizzy and had also vomited.

Ayobami said that he had taken Mohbad home to rest,

but that his condition had worsened later that evening.

Ayobami said that he had then called for an ambulance, but that the ambulance had not arrived.

He said that he had then decided to take Mohbad to the hospital on a bike,

as it was the only way to get him there quickly.

Ayobami said that Mohbad had been pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital.

Mohbad’s death is still under investigation.

The coroner’s inquest is expected to continue in the coming weeks.

Nigerian singer Naira Marley and his aide Sam Larry have been granted bail after weeks in detention.

They were granted bail on November 6, 2023, by Justice Nicholas Oweibo of the Federal High Court in Lagos.

Hence, The judge granted them bail in the sum of N20 million each, with two sureties in like sum.

The sureties must be resident in Lagos and must have landed property in the state.

They must also deposit their international passports with the court.

Naira Marley and Sam Larry are expected to appear in court on January 16, 2024, for the continuation of their trial.

Their release on bail has been welcomed by their fans and colleagues in the entertainment industry.

Many people have taken to social media to express their joy and relief.

However, some people have criticized the court for granting them bail,

arguing that they are a flight risk and that they could interfere with the investigation.

It is important to note that Naira Marley and Sam Larry are presumed innocent until proven guilty.

The defendants were directed to submit their passports and report

once a week to the State Criminal Investigation Department, Panti, by Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun.

“As part of the bail conditions, the defendants are to surrender their passports and

make weekly appearances at the State Criminal Investigation Department,” Olatunbosun ruled.

Furthermore, the magistrate in charge of the case issued a stern caution,

stating unequivocally that any attempt to get in touch with her would be noted and

might even be revealed during public court sessions.

“Any attempts to contact me directly would be recorded and potentially disclosed in open court proceedings,” she added.
