Assault: Seun Kuti returns to court September 27
The assault case against afrobeat singer Seun Kuti has been adjourned to September 27th. The case was to come up for hearing at the Magistrate court in Yaba, Lagos state on Monday, September 4 but was adjourned due to the absence of the Chief Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun.
Kuti was arrested in May after a video of him assaulting a police officer in uniform on the Third Mainland Bridge went viral.
The singer turned himself in to the police and was later released on bail. He has pleaded not guilty to the charges against him.
The case is being closely watched by many Nigerians, who are divided on whether Kuti should be punished for his actions.
